This stand-alone professional development course is designed to provide an advanced understanding of the clinical management of adults with cancer from pre-diagnosis to end-of-life. It's ideal if you're an aspiring advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) working in primary, secondary or tertiary care, including specialist cancer centres and palliative care environments.
The 直播做爱's expert team will support you in developing your knowledge and understanding of epidemiology, pathophysiology and key elements of cancer biology, with detailed application across the four most common cancers in adults in the UK (breast, prostate, lung and bowel). This will enable you to compare and contrast different presentations and consider the clinical implications, including clinical signs and symptoms, sites of disease and metastatic spread.
We'll focus on building your understanding of diagnostic investigations, considering the importance of cancer biology and tumour markers in cancer staging and future monitoring of progressive disease. We'll provide an outline of clinical management in relation to different cancers and stages of the disease, including acute and chronic symptom management. You'll explore clinical management within acute oncology, red flag symptoms, management of cardiotoxicities and oncological emergencies, including sepsis, metastatic cord compression and SVCO.
Our experienced and knowledgeable team will support you as you explore the potential impact of cancer, and associated treatments, on adults of all ages with cancer. We'll consider the implications of cancer in older people and the complex decision-making necessary at different stages of the disease. We'll also support you in developing your knowledge and understanding of different consultation styles and communication skills, with application to advanced clinical practice.
To benefit from this course, you should already be a health professional with a basic understanding of oncology and some experience caring for people with cancer.
Where changes are made to material information contained in this course description or a decision is taken to suspend a course between the offer of admissions and enrolment, we will inform applicants at the earliest possible opportunity and will outline the various options available to the applicant.
This course offers academic progression in the specialist field of advanced clinical practice in oncology.

This advanced professional development course adopts a blended learning approach, using the principles of problem-based learning to develop your enquiry skills and place this in the context of patient care.
We'll introduce topics through keynote lectures involving a mixture of theory and case-based discussions around clinical scenarios. Following the lectures, you'll need to undertake self-directed learning to explore each topic in greater depth and in relation to your own area of practice. These activities will increase your understanding of the common presentations of cancer and treatment options to develop your clinical assessments, communication and decision-making abilities. We'll encourage you to consider current research evidence in oncology and use this to inform your clinical decision-making and information exchange with patients and colleagues.
In terms of assessment, you can expect problem-based learning case presentations, written assignments and multiple-choice question (MCQ) exams.
